Why We Insist on Genuine Clack Valves

Many retail filters use proprietary, closed-system valves that lock you into one company for parts and service. Clack has manufactured valves in Wisconsin, USA since 1944, and water treatment pros use them nationwide, so any qualified plumber can service yours for years.

  • Non-proprietary, standard parts
  • Metered backwash uses up to 40% less water
  • Keeps its settings through power outages
  • Corrosion-proof fiberglass reinforced composite tank

Whole House Filtration Questions, Answered

How do I know which tank size I need?

It comes down to your home size and water usage. The 10x54 (1.0 ft³ catalytic carbon) fits smaller homes, the 12x54 (1.5 ft³) fits mid-size homes, and the 13x54 (2.0 ft³) fits larger homes and high water usage. Not sure? Book a free in-home water test and we'll size it for you.

What's the difference between a whole house filter and a water softener?

A whole house filter removes chlorine, chloramine, sediment and odors for cleaner, better-tasting water. A water softener removes the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause scale. Many San Diego homes benefit from both.

Is installation included in the price?

No. The price shown is for the complete filtration system. In Southern California, professional installation by our local, veteran-owned team is quoted separately at your free water test, or your own licensed plumber can install it.

Does it remove chloramine?

Yes. San Diego and much of Southern California disinfect with chloramine, which standard carbon struggles with. Catalytic carbon is made to remove both chlorine and chloramine at every tap.

Is the system NSF certified?

Yes. The Clack WS1 control valve is certified to NSF/ANSI 44, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372, and the catalytic carbon media is certified to NSF/ANSI 61.

Will it lower my water pressure?

No. The system is rated for 27 GPM, so your showers, faucets and appliances keep normal household water pressure.

Do I ever need to replace filter cartridges?

No. The Clack WS1 automatically backwashes the catalytic carbon bed to keep it clean, so there are no cartridges to buy or replace.

How long until I receive it?

Your system ships in 5 to 7 business days. SoCal delivery is $149 and nationwide shipping is $259.

What's the warranty?

Every system includes a lifetime limited warranty, plus our 30-day guarantee.

Which areas do you serve?

We test and install throughout San Diego County and within a 90-mile radius, including North County, the South Bay, Temecula, Murrieta, Riverside and south Orange County. We also ship systems anywhere in the continental U.S.
